Back for the first time this season: our Questions & Antlers series! For those who might’ve forgotten, this is our version of a mailbag—you ask the questions and we do our best to answer them. This year, the series will run on a quarterly basis to give you even more opportunity to have your voice heard.
It’s been an offseason, hasn’t it? The Bucks have transformed; the lights turned off on an era none of us will ever forget. And as the dust continues to settle, the ramp-up to the season proper begins.
While the roster losses have been huge—it’s impossible to replace the franchise’s mayor and GOAT at any point, let alone at the same time—“new” is refreshing. And I know I’m not the only one around here who feels at least somewhat revitalised by the makeover. Almost overnight, the Bucks have metamorphosed from an ageing roster desperately trying to hang on to one full of youth and promise. Yes, there will be growing pains, but let’s not pretend the last few years have been all that fun either—there’s a reason I compared last season to Cormac McCarthy’s The Road. So, like with the boy in The Road, the Bucks’ immediate and long-term future is unknown (unless you believe in prophecies).
Speaking of “here,” Brew Hoop too has undergone change, and we appreciate your perspective and continued support. Sincerely. We’ve analysed the Bucks’ new arrivals and we’ve gotten goosebumps thinking about the starters—and soon we’ll rank the roster too (with your help, of course). We’ll also introduce you to some terrific new writers who are joining our community (you’ve already “met” one)! Truthfully, there’s even more than that to come, but that’s fodder for another time.
