The first overall number one pick in the draft lottery era for the Hawks will be calling another city home. Shams Charania of ESPN broke the news about Zaccharie Risacher:
Risacher was drafted first overall after the Hawks unexpectedly won the draft lottery in 2024. After finishing second in rookie of the year voting in 2024-25, last season was a different tale. Risacher averaged just 9.6 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game.
The Hawks also sent out two second-round picks and received NBA champion forward Luguentz “Lu” Dort and young defensive-minded guard Ryan Nembhard from the Oklahoma City Thunder and Dallas Mavericks respectively.
