Tamin Lipsey returns to Iowa State after a court ruling grants him an extra season.
Iowa State picked up one of its biggest offseason additions ever this year.
Thanks to a court ruling, Tamin Lipsey has been granted an injunction to return to the Cyclones. The NCAA has filed an appeal on the matter.

But for now, Lipsey is back in Ames with a locker and uniform inside Hilton Coliseum.
Tamin Lipsey Officially Back With Iowa State Men’s Basketball
The school put out an official press release confirming the return of Lipsey to the program.
Lipsey was granted a temporary restraining order in the Daley vs. NCAA case by the Monroe County Circuit Court in Indiana. That ruling allows him to play an additional year.
After leaving Iowa State as one of the top players in program history, the former Ames High School star gets another crack at an NCAA championship.
Former Cyclone Star Went Undrafted in NBA Draft
Lipsey seemingly exhausted his eligibility this past March when Iowa State lost in the NCAA Tournament. He went undrafted in the NBA Draft, signing with the Indiana Pacers for the NBA Summer League.
After appearing in two games for the Pacers, Lipsey suffered a knee injury. He did not return to the court.
During his career with the Cyclones, Lipsey was named an All-American and three-time all-Big 12 selection. He was a three-time conference all-defensive team selection.
Lipsey will enter this additional year after averaging 13.5 points, five assists, four rebounds and over two steals per game last season. He is the only Power Conference player in the country to average those numbers, and the first Cyclone since NBA star Tyrese Haliburton.
His career totals of 1,507 points, 602 assists, 518 rebounds and 314 steals make him the only Big 12 Conference player ever to achieve those numbers. He is the fourth in the NCAA to reach those totals since 1986.
With Tamin Lipsey, Iowa State Immediately Vaults Into Role of Contender
Lipsey obviously slides right into the starting point guard position. But Iowa State will have depth behind him in Jaquan Johnson. The transfer was the Missouri Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Year last season.
Joining Lipsey in the starting lineup will likely be Jamarion Batemon, Leon Bond III, Tre Singleton and Blake Buchanan. Buchanan is one of four players back from the Sweet 16 team.
Bond is a transfer from Northern Iowa and Singleton from Northwestern.
Of course, if the NCAA appeal is processed, all of this changes for Lipsey and the Cyclones.
