The latest addition to Self’s team, announced by the school on Monday, is Purdue transfer Trey Kaufman-Renn. After weeks of uncertainty, Kaufman received a preliminary injunction allowing him to be eligible for a sixth year in college. After the injury to freshman Grant Mordini, Kansas had a roster spot open, making space for Kaufman-Renn’s arrival.
He spent last season with Purdue and was selected as the No. 59 pick in the 2026 NBA draft by the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Purdue forward averaged 14.2 points, 8.3 rebounds and 2.5 assists last season.
